Going like Gangbusters…

September 29th, 2009

Wow, my idea for raising dough for the troops is really going great. Jennifer texted me this morning bright and early with an order for four dozen white dinner rolls, which I am working on as we speak. Then she texted me this evening with an order to be delivered on Friday – two dozen [...]

Sgt Braswell

September 3rd, 2009

My friend and fellow troop supporter “Maddog” gave me a heads up on a Warrior who posted that his Troops are in dire need of a morale boost. They’re not too far from re-deploying (going home, in civilian speak), but they’ve been through a lot and they’ve really been down. Being a good leader, Sgt. [...]

A Thank You from a Warrior

August 11th, 2009

I got an e-mail today from Spc. Lizardo-Perez; he got the care package full of snacks and magazines yesterday. The first line of his message said “All I can say is WOW, awesome!”  I had enclosed 24 Guardian Angel cards, and he said once he opened the box, he set it on the table in [...]

Here I am again

I’ve had people ask questions like “How do you write letters to people you don’t even know? What do you say to them?” This blog will hopefully answer that question. In my initial letter to each new Warrior, I introduce myself and tell a little bit about my family, what it’s like where we live, [...]

Well, a dose of love and appreciation, for one thing.  Guardian Angel cards to be distributed among the group. Hugs in the “empty spaces.”  Magazines, books, stationery for the troops to write home on.  Sewing kits, safety pins, coat hangers, magnets to hang pictures on metal walls of CHU’s, decent toilet paper, air fresheners…anything our [...]

A couple of Warriors we supported during their deployments have visited and signed the guest book, and one who is currently in the sandbox signed as well. One of the two who are currently home, SPC Kumpf, also left a comment on the comment page. Kumpf is wanting to get back in the fight…guess when [...]
