It’s Christmas Eve at my house, but in the sandbox and the ‘Stan, it’s Christmas Day. I wish our troops were all back home with their families, as I’m sure they wish the same even more than I do! I was chatting with one of our Warriors over there, when in mid-conversation he said “Mortars coming in…” and went off line. Now, these guys always say “Don’t worry about me,” but seriously, how is it possible NOT to? I’ll be worried until I see him pop online again; it’s what I do, and nothing is gonna change me. Old dogs, new tricks – you know what they say about that subject.
Randy popped on IM long enough to wish a Merry Christmas; he was baking cookies for Santa. I’m so glad he made it home in time for Christmas with his family. Don’t you just know they’re having a wonderful Christmas now!! He’ll be getting out of the Army soon, so they won’t have to worry about another deployment. Like any of our Warriors who have kids, he’s missed out on a lot of “big moments” with his young’uns; now he can start to make up for lost time.
Jon’s home, as well. So no more worrying about him, either. I’ve adopted a few more Warriors, though, since Carmel, Lettsi, Ron, Jerry, Hall, Randy and Jon have returned to the real world, so still have plenty to spoil and fret over. That’s just part of being a bona fide, certified AnySoldier Support Junkie. It’s what we do…LOL!
I’ve got to fix supper; I’ll type at y’all again later. Take care, and I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas, especially our Warriors who are currently deployed.

Won’t go political, but…..
Hope they all stay safe till they can get the hell out of there.

I second that emotion…
