The two soldiers were members of the 1st Battalion, 508thParachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Sgt. Brandon T. Islip, 23, of Richmond, Va., has been unaccounted for since Nov. 4 in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan, when he went missing while involved in a resupply mission.

Sgt. Benjamin W. Sherman, 21, of Plymouth, Mass., has been identified as having been killed while participating in the Nov. 4 resupply mission.

Search and recovery efforts are ongoing, and the incident is under investigation.

Rest in Peace, SGT Sherman. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. May God bring comfort and healing to your loved ones as they mourn the loss of their Hero. At ease, Soldier, your duty is done. In the arms of the angels, may you find eternal peace.

God be with the loved ones of SGT Islip during their time of worry and grief, not knowing the whereabouts of their Hero. Watch over them and give their hearts ease. May they rest assured that wherever Brandon is, You are holding him in the palm of Your hand. In Jesus loving name, Amen
