I adopted another Warrior, even though I said I wasn’t going to adopt any more until the ones already in my Troop Support Rolodex had come home. I try to stay away from the “Where to Send” page on AnySoldier.com, but sometimes I just can’t seem to help myself. Today was one of those days.
I scrolled down the list of contacts, reading their profiles one by one, and I managed to get almost to the bottom of the list of today’s updates and new additions before I found one that jumped off the page, wrapped around my heart, and yelled “Pick me!! Pick me!!” The young man said he’s got several Soldiers in his unit who never get any mail, and he’s not asking for much – just letters so they’ll not go empty-handed on mail day. I’m going to put a couple of cards in the mail to them Tuesday since the Post Office is closed tomorrow, and of course will include Guardian Angel cards for each of them. Since he didn’t ask for anything else, I’m going to put together a generic box of goodies and get it sent off Tuesday as well. Aubrey wrote a check for postage for one care package – this is the one!
