Did I Make A Difference?

Jack posted this video on his Multiply page, and I really like it so I thought I’d post it here. I wonder at times if what I’m doing makes a difference or not. Occasionally I will get an e-mail or a letter from one of our Warriors that lets me know I’ve made a difference to them, and that’s what keeps me doing what I do.

I printed almost 200 Guardian Angel cards last night, and will be laminating them this evening ~ the angels seem to be pretty popular with the heroes who get them. I would have printed 200, but a couple of pages mis-fed and messed up…rats!

I’ve got some more sheet sets ordered; Walmart.com had several on sale for $7.50 and $8.00 a set, so I bought 3 sets of striped sheets, 3 sets with a “circle” pattern, 2 sets of indigo blue, and 2 sets of black. To save shipping costs, I had them shipped to the local Wal-Mart store, and I got an e-mail yesterday that the print ones are ready to pick up. I’ll pick them up at my lunch break; it’s just a couple of miles from the office to Wal-Mart.  Then of course I’ll wash them before I package them up and send them to Afghanistan. I wouldn’t sleep on brand new sheets without washing them first; would you??

1st Lt. Cammack is now Capt. Cammack; I sent him a card of congratulations and told him we think “Captain Cammack” has a nice ring to it. His latest update on AnySoldier requests among other things “cushy toilet paper to pamper our butts.” He’s got such a way with words…LOL!! Next pay day I’ll have to pick up some “cushy toilet paper” for these Heroes; I don’t think that’s asking too much! Meanwhile, I’ll pack some baby wipes in the box with their new sheets – even baby wipes have to be better than the John Wayne toilet paper provided by the Army.

Grandbabies will be here any minute, and I have to get up from here and finish getting ready for work.  Y’all take care, and thanks for reading my blog. Everybody stay safe!

I recommend the Charmin Ultra Strong or Ultra Soft. It’s like $1.00 a roll, but these guys are worth it.

Not sure how I missed it the first go-round, but you know all good and well that I not only sleep on brand-new unwashed sheets, but that I wear pretty much anything straight out of the package, even boxers.

Once you wash it, it loses some ‘newness’…

Yeah, I know. I haven’t even been able to get you to sort your clothes before you wash ‘em in all these years, either. What can I say?

Tracy, You do an awesome job! I’m sorry that I don’t post comments as often as I should.

You are a blessing to many people, military and nonmilitary alike!

    Keep up the good work!

Great site…keep up the good work. I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,

    A definite great read…
